Overview

This course is concerned with the stigma around sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and why it is important for it to be removed. STDs are common and it is essential that their prevention, effects, and treatment are openly discussed. The course also includes information about different STDs, including their symptoms and treatment.

The learning objectives are as follows:

  • To be aware of the stigma around sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
  • To know about different STDs
  • To understand the thoughts and feelings associated with being diagnosed with an STD
  • To be aware of how people can get tested for STDs
  • To understand how STDs impact relationships
  • To know how we can combat stigma
