Safeguarding Managers ensure children and young people feel safe and are protected from significant harm, including neglect, abuse, and accidents.

In this course, learners can find out more about the role of the Safeguarding Managers, multi-agency working, and conflict resolution.

The learning objectives are as follows:

  • To understand the role of the manager in safeguarding practice
  • To be aware of messages from practice 
  • To be aware of research about effective safeguarding and the role of the manager
  • To understand risk assessments and the management of risk
  • To be familiar with multi-agency working to enhance safeguarding
  • To understand the relevant national and local authority systems and guidance
  • To be aware of some of the pitfalls in safeguarding practice
  • To understand how to ensure the voice of the child is heard
  • To be able to recognise and respond to resistance
  • To understand conflict resolution 
  • To know how to work together effectively as managers in safeguarding children

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
