Overview

This course introduces the concept of Protective Behaviours and relevant programmes. The course explains how Protective Behaviours work and provides practical advice for how it can be used in practice with young people and children. How to use Protective Behaviours with children with special needs is also explored.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  • To understand the content, themes, and core concepts of the Protective Behaviours Programme
  • To be aware of simple strategies designed to increase young people’s personal safety, problem-solving, and assertiveness skills

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
