While caring for a child with complex needs won’t be right for everyone, there are a lot of misconceptions about how hard it is. Every child is different, and some children will always need some form of support. As a carer, you can offer them crucial life skills and help them learn to manage their own behaviour, as well as offering a loving, supportive, and understanding home.

Through this course, learners will receive an understanding of children with complex care needs, multi-agency working, and the challenges of complex care.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  • To understand the concept of children with complex needs
  • To look at how to work together in a multi-agency way to promote better outcomes
  • To look at the different models of disability
  • To understand the meaning of “complex care needs”
  • To know solutions to the challenges of complex care for children
  • To look at transitions into adulthood

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.

Should you have 5 or more learners requiring this training please consider the face to face option we offer.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before making a booking, please go via our live chat.
