Communicable (infectious) diseases can spread easily from person to person. While some people show no symptoms at all, such diseases can be harmful. This course outlines the causes of infection, so you can better understand how to protect yourself and the young people in your care.

The learning objectives are as follows:

  • To understand communicable (infectious) diseases
  • To know what causes an infectious disease
  • To be aware of the common causes of the spread of infection
  • To know the chain of infection
  • To understand the main routes of infection
  • To know how you can stop infections
