Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common but complex condition.

This course will give you an insight into ADHD, how to work effectively with young people, and key legislation in Scotland.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  • To understand ADHD
  • To know the signs of ADHD
  • To be aware of the diagnosis of ADHD
  • To learn how to parent a child/young people with ADHD
  • To understand the acronyms, GIRFEC (getting it right for every child) and SHANARRI (safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible, included)
